Notepad+

An excellent replacement for the standard Windows Notepad.

Compact, but with many more features, including - no file size limit, multiple documents open, and a spell-checker!

This is probably my favorite freeware app.

Notepad's the way to go when writing a webpage. But it doesn't have any hotkeys (Ctrl+S, Ctrl+O, Ctrl+H, etc) or a Search and Replace function, and not to mention the file size limit. Notepad+ is simply Notepad with some extras (not too many though), and it's only 200k! I have it on every computer I own and replacing notepad.exe with Notepad+ is usually the first thing I do after installing Windows.
