That cold that I mentioned not to be Covid was in fact not Covid. Shocker. It did, however, result in me not going to work on Thursday since I had to be tested and the employee testing leaves right about the time I go to work. If I'd known that I could flunk the hospitals test just by having one symptom I'd have come in earlier and gotten the nasal swab. But I didn't so I went Friday, got the swab, had a rather impressive nose bleed that made me very glad that I' put a bunch of extra napkins in my car like some kind of crazy person, and drove home to wait for a call that would tell me if I was positive. I was 97% certain it would come back negative so when the time to start driving to work rolled around and I hadn't received a call I got I my car and started the twenty minute drive. I got the call three-quarters of the way there which cleared me for work. I spent most of the rest of the night wishing I'd just used another sick day.
