When I am with you

I see only blue skies,

hear only windchimes and violins

When you are here

I worry about neither past or future,

doubting nothing

                                                                                     Yet

When there are mornings without you

I stare at blank ceilings or

watch TV with the sound off

When you are away

I imagine tragedy,

fearing the worst

Having the most to gain,

I have also

the most to lose.
