An excellent guitar amp made by
Fender. The Pro Junior has some pretty
awesome tone in a small package that can be had fairly
cheap. The controls are as
simple as it gets, a tone knob and a
volume knob. Throw in a power switch and a 1/4" jack, and you've got all you need. It's a full
tube design with 2
12AX7A preamp tubes and 2
EL-84 power tubes. The cover is
tweed, and the speaker grille is
oxblood red. Total power output is 15 watts
RMS. The entire thing is 14.5"x15"x8.75" and weighs in at 20
lbs.
In terms of value and sound in a portable amp, this thing is hard to beat, and has better tone than many more expensive amps I've heard. There's no overdrive, but it's all tube, so just crank it up to get some amazing natural tube distortion. It is also quite loud, capable of filling small venues such as a bar or club. This may not be the best amp for apartment usage however, as I tend to find it hard to get the volume low enough while still having good tone. It is quite loud...
