A
photographer for nearly 25 years, Michael Kenna uses extended
night exposures (in
black and white) to dramatically
transform the landscape. His subjects tend to be simple-
nuclear power plants, rivers, bridges,
fountains, yet he makes them
magical and otherworldly.
His published work includes
Night Walk,
Night Work, and
Le Notre’s Gardens. He shoots a vast majority of his work in Europe.
Kenna, now in his 50’s, is
British but currently
lives in San Francisco.
The web site http://www.edelmangallery.com/kenna.htm has several examples of Kenna’s images, and
if you have lots of money you could buy one too.
