The
New Jersey Cardinals are a
minor league baseball
team who play in the
New York-Penn League, a
Short-Season, Class A team. Their stadium is
in
Augusta, NJ, which is in
Sussex County in
northern New Jersey.
The New Jersey Cardinals are one of three Class A teams
in the St. Louis Cardinals' farm system, along with
the Potomac Cannons (Carolina League) and the
Peoria Chiefs (Midwest League). They have been in the
New York-Penn League since 1994 and play in the
McNamara Division (as opposed to the Pickney-Stedler Division).
Thanks to
Billy for correcting me about where the
Cardinals' stadium is. I thought it was closer to, even
in,
Newark. I had the Cardinals confused
with the
Newark Bears.
