The
Scout promise, in the
UK, which every Scout must make
upon being
invested, is:
"On my honour,
I promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queen
To help other people
And to keep the Scout Law"
I believe variations exist for people of different
religions.
When I was a Scout, the leader always used to get the promise wrong. It became a
running joke, and one of the many fond memories which I have of
1stAlconbury Scout Troop.
(most of the others are from camps, but that's a story for a different node)
