General statement of disapproval towards
authority and
officers of the law (among other things) by minorities in the U.S.
Based solely around a feeling of long-present segregation and prejudice, this is an outcry of anger.
The principle is basically interpreted as a response to a society that seems to be holding the person uttering the phrase in a state of poverty and self-doubting apathy.
Example:
"I woke up late, tried to get to work, got busted going 36 in a 30 and got fined $75. When I got to work, I found out they docked my pay because I wasn't on time.. the Man is bringing me down!"
