Free weights are used in a huge number of exercises and consist of:
Barbells - A metal bar about 6 foot long, used in exercises such as the bench press and squat.
Dumbells - A metal bar about 1 foot long, used in exercises such as the bicep curl or chest flyes.
Weights - Usually circular in shape with a hole in the middle to allow them to be slid onto either a barbell or dumbell.
