A collection of
GNU utilities ported to the
Win32 platform (
Win9X and
WinNT). Unlike
cygwin, they do not require a special
library to run; they can be used
standalone and in
.BAT files.
These tools are an excellent introduction to "The
Unix Way" for
Windows-only users. All are
command-line tools and make full use of
pipe streams (
| > <).
The following
GNU packages are implemented (as of 2001.07.07):
Extra tools:
pclip and
gclip pipe the
stdin/
stdout to and from the
Windows Clipboard for better
integration with
GUI applications.
