東京工業大学
Tôkyô Kôgyô Daigaku, or "Tokyo Tech," is one of
Japan's premier research universities. It was founded in
1881 as Tokyo Vocational School, and renamed in 1929. Today, it has three undergraduate faculties and four graduate schools, offering a wide array of
science and
engineering degrees (including "
social engineering").

International students: 802 (mostly from China and Korea)
Symbol: A stylized swallow, meant to resemble the kanji characters for "engineering" and "university."
