The Best of The Week

Its shape changed, not its chemistry. From the outside, it could take on many forms, but internally, things still functioned the same. While the differences in form were fairly obvious, it was also quite easy to tell that despite differences in shape, underlying dynamics did not change.

It also was not static within. But while it could be quite active inside, the activity adhered to very consistent patterns. It was never unpredictable, it was never chaos.

It was adaptive enough to mold itself around changes in its environment, but was never so unstable to cause confusion and insecurity.

The usual form we gave it had it going off in one direction, but always eventually returning, no matter how far and wide it went.

Today concluded the trial of Dr. Sam Beckett, whose misguided leap into time travel ruined the lives of many people. When I took control of his imaging chamber and other apparatus that was part of his evil plan, my allies and I were able to gun down everyone involved with this "project quantum leap" nonsense, but Dr. Beckett escaped our bullets and was on the run for several weeks before an elite unit of marshalls led by a tough, no-nonsense man named Samuel Gerard brought him in.
