Being held during The Great Depression, the number of athletes had almost
halved. Just like the previous games, these were held in unusually warm
weather.
These games were the first where the Scandinavian dominance were broken, or
at least challenged a bit. The home country won 6 out of the 14 gold medals.
Notable exhibition event this time was dog sled. Sonia Heine won her second Olympic
gold medal in figure skating, at the age of 19.
