An 8-voice
polyphonic analog orchestral synthesizer with a 61-note
keyboard. Released in
1980, replaced by the
superior Trident mk II in
1982.
The original Trident features only 16
memory locations for
user patches. Unlike mk II, the patches can't be
modified once saved, forcing the user to start programming the sound
from scratch. Furthermore, there is no separate
ADSR envelope generator on the
VCF, nor a
tape interface. Otherwise the two
models are more or less
identical.
