Note. I guess there was some question about this pattern, this is for crocheting, not knitting. Be forewarned. Thank you.
The solid shell is a nice pattern that is similar to the open shell stitch, but unlike the open shell is closed keeping more heat in, and giving the work a much less lacy appearance.
This pattern is based on the multiples of 6 + 1 which means the first row needs to be a number which is common to both 6 and 1, like 120.
Row One: chain your multiple of 6 + 1, example, 120.
Row Two: single crochet into 2nd chain from the hook, *skip 2 chains, add 5 double crochet into next chain, skip 2 more chains; rep from * to end, turn.
Row Three:chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), chain 2 double crochet into the 1rst chain, *skip 2 chains, single crochet into next chain, skip another two chains, single crochet, rep from * ending with the last repeat with the single crochet into the top of the turning stitch.
Repeat rows two and three to end.
