This is the
European version of
Sega's
Sonic Drift 2 racing game for the
Game Gear. The game was retitled to help avoid the confusion that
American gamers faced: what happened to
Sonic Drift 1? The original game wasn't released outside of
Japan, so the game took on this new title to remove the big "2" from the title.
Aside from a different title screen, the games are identical. Oddly enough, the European version was released over six months earlier than its Japanese counterpart. Traditionally Sonic games were released in Japan first, then the USA, and then Europe.
