Due was educated at Northwestern University and theUniversity of Leeds. Her professional career began at the Miami Herald where a story she did on Hurricane Andrew and it's affect on children helped win the paper a Pulitzer Prize.
Due's most recent work, The Black Rose, a biography Madame C.J. Walker, was started originally Alex Haley. When he died, his estate gave his notes to Due to complete the book.
