A.K.A
shit-kickers. Combat boots are the height of footgear fashion, they protect your feet from
nasty things like broken glass, sharp rocks, and
punks bent on stomping your toes. They also seem to offend or intimidate mothers, small children, police, and Christians, especially if you wear your pants tucked into the top of the boots.
Jungle boots are OK, but they lack insole padding and don't protect your toes as well as
steel-toes. They are, however, cheap - about $20US. Paratrooper boots are
where it's at. They cover more of your calf than jungle boots, have steel toe caps, and are real leather where most jungle boots are synthetic. They're also more expensive, about $80US, last I saw them. The coolest boots you can find regularly are the Hi-Tec Magnum ST, they're like a civillian version of paratrooper boots, made entirely of leather (no canvas parts, like P-troop/jungle boots) have steel toes, and are better insulated and padded than military-issue boots. Unfortunately, they're flaming expensive, $100-120US. Of course, what I really want are boots like
Keanu Reeves had in
The Matrix. Those were
Bad Ass.
