Built in 1929, the Waverly Avenue School is unique in many ways. Located in the small town of
Holtsville, NY, Waverly is the oldest building in the
Sachem Central School District. It is one of twelve elementary schools in a district which is known as being the largest in the
United States. Waverly has grown over the years with the addition of several new wings, and now serves as Sachem's conference and staff development center. As its fields are the site of the Sachem Youth
Soccer League games, hundreds of children enjoy the facilities each weekend during the fall season.
Waverly, consists of over 700 children from kindergarten through sixth grade. The school motto is, "Living in Harmony."
