Smile is also a
musical based on the
1975 film of the same name. The musical (and the film for that matter) is about a
beauty pageant for young women, entitled the "Young American Miss Pageant" and the hypocrisy and underhanded dealings that go with it. The film was moderately popular, but the musical was not.
